On our third day in Morocco we hired a car, managed to navigate out of Marrakech amongst the crazy driving, and onto the highway to go up into the Atlas Mountains. Our destination was just under four hours drive - Aït Benhaddou an ancient ksar (fortress) which has the distinction of being a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the location of many well known movies and TV shows (such as Game of Thrones, Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia etc, etc.)
The roads to Aït Benhaddou were in excellent condition but here you can see all the switch backs.
